They will also make huge leaps in technology, specifically in personal and enterprise computing. I believe they will lay the groundwork for neural interface with the computer.
Isn't it a shame that many of these kids and their families cannot afford a computer? What would this world be like if Richard Stallman or Linus did not have access to a computer when they were young? How many kids will not get the chance to be inspired by their first exposure to computing?
Reglue, our non profit organization; takes donated or broken computers, refurbishes them and then we see to it that financially-disadvantaged kids in Central Texas are given one.
And they all run Linux. Every one of them.
In addition to giving individuals a computer, we are also active in several communities around Austin Texas in building public labs where people can come and use a computer for job searches and the learning experience.
Without Linux. we would not have been able to do a fraction of the things we've accomplished. Our deepest thanks to those that make Linux possible.
